July 2nd

Gates that require a code to enter.

Houses with driveways that cost more then every trailer I’ve ever lived in put together lined the streets.

To say this is step up from three months ago would be a complete understatement. We pull onto Pinewood Street and there it sits. Two stories, concrete driveway that turns into perfectly placed bricks as you make your way to house. The car stops at the steps of entrance Mags jumped out and throws open my door in excitement. The house looked like she brought the Hamptons to Texas.

She has impeccable taste that’s for sure.

The double doors open without a creek or squeak, furnished already perfectly curated pieces that made the costal castle feel more occupied and “warm”. Mags showed me to my room up the stairs and down the hall to the right it was one of two master bedrooms. Every Lucy score book known to woman was placed on the bed in a row from “knockemout” to “the Christmas fix” they were all right there. This new start was starting to feel amazing I was hesitant moving to Texas but now I can’t remember what I left?

I dropped off my bags and decided to take a stroll around our new roots. Tall pines lined the road hiding the beautiful homes from the streets. I walked til I hit the lake the sun was setting right above the tree line, it was a painting. I made my way to the benches that were next to a beach equipped with a volleyball net and currently occupied by some guys. Sitting on the bench looking out on the water the suns warmth hugging my face i almost felt at peace til a stray ball found the side of my head.

Getting knocked out was not apart the plan but after all the romance novel I’ve read I better be awaken with a kiss or something.

“Not gonna kiss you but I will ask if you are okay?” Said a voice that I could only describe as Thor.

“Thor is that you. Lucy would call you a Viking” if you are as shocked as I was to hear that come out of my mouth and enter the ears of a younger less grungy Chris Hemsworth then we can both cry tears of embarrassment together, and then to add in Lucy it’s all too much to take in so just take a moment of silence for yourself and me.

His name is Ryan Michaels.

And after he tried to be head me with a ball he offered to walk me home.

The sun had disappeared behind the pines and the glow of street lights lit the path from the lake to our house and Ryan walked the whole way between me and rather unbusy road. It was a quiet walk with soft vague questions

“Where you from?”

“Why did you move?”

“How long you been here?”

I was never boy crazy, but this boy, this boy was different.

And before you go off and make me feel like a teeny bopper love movie I know how it sounds but it’s true.

We were met too quickly with my driveway. He brushed my hair off my shoulders pretending to be concerned about my head.

He asked for my name .

Lace.

“Lace? I like that. Same place same time tomorrow?”

Did I just get asked out by this guy??

Yes I did….

Til tomorrow

XOXO
